The style of the shoot was 'Slim Aarons'. Think of wide open skies, mimosas, 1950's high society and glamour, charisma and a hint of early Hampton's. Slim Aaron was a 1950's photographer who epitomized this style, which is emergent but not really known yet... And I mean who doesn't love “Attractive people doing attractive things in attractive places,” as Aarons' famously once said to describe his practice.

Slim Aarons worked predominantly for society publications, taking pictures of the rich and famous both before and after serving as a photographer for the US military magazine Yank during World War II. His work has been included in Town and Country, Holiday, Venture and LIFE. Aarons was known for the positive portrayals he gave to the people he photographed and was invited to high-society gatherings for exactly this reason. His subject matter covered American and European society as well as nobility and both minor and major stars of the day.

This luxe yet relaxed styling is a step away from the bohemian trend, and worked well, embracing classical elegance. The elegant gowns, worn by two models, Miriam and Rebecca, were made by Holly Rose Couture, define and bespoke luxury. Detailed beading, plunging necklines, sheer panelling and gently flowing trains. One bride, Rebecca, was in her first trimester of pregnancy and the elegant lace had a small degree of stretch to comfortably allow movement and flexibility.

The light on the day was diffused by gentle cloud cover, and our Photographer got quite excited when she discovered the long grasses in the fields - Erin is adept at large landscape shots and taking in the beauty of the countryside, as well as the creating a feeling with every image.
