Inspired to begin her journey in wedding floral design by her love for gardening and being amongst nature and flowers - even being out on a large field of grass or walking through gardens always inspired me and made me feel calm. "Starting a little business had always been something I wanted to do as soon as I started studying floristry at TAFE in 2014." tells cody.

What can the posy garden floral design offer a couple for their Wedding day? Hard work and a passion for happiness through creation. I absolutely love making people happy and giving this through nature's creations is truely a wonderful feeling! Being a lover of flower arranging, I love bringing a couple's dream/vision to life!

Did you always know that you wanted to be a floral designer? No I didn't! During high school I was quite good at English and Food Technology, so as I finished my HSC and High School, I entered University doing a Bachelor of Food Science and Human Nutrition in hopes to becoming a Nutritionist or a Food Journalist. However, I found, whilst I did enjoy it quite a lot, I felt that my heart was not fully with it.

What keeps you inspired along the way? A lot of different things! My friends, my family, my clients' visions and of course, being amongst the flowers. Seeing the colours and textures of florals at the flowers markets, on social media or in cute florist shops, inspires a thread of ideas in my head. I love seeing an 'out of the ordinary' colour of a flower, or a flower I've never seen before.

Do you have a personal favourite style? My personal favourite style is romantic, rustic and organic. The idea of a wild and drifted style bouquet, pairing dried flowers with fresh flowers and lots of different foliage definitely excites me! A good friend of mine and I always get super excited over dried Eucalyptus Gum and dried Proteas!

What advice would you offer to a couple that is just starting out on their search for the perfect Wedding blooms? Search around for what you both love! Finding ideas for your dream wedding florals can be both overwhelming and a long process, so it's best to start as soon as possible. Don't be afraid to establish a style that you love, even if it's something completely different to what you see throughout magazines, expos or instagram. Today's florists absolutely LOVE unique ideas and challenging themselves and we are always here to give any guidance! I like to try and get my couples to send as many inspirational photos as they can. The more, the better! This helps your florist understand the vision you have for your wedding, even if it's photos/mood boards of places, plants or fabrics/materials.

What is the best part about what you do: I think the best and most rewarding part about what I do is giving the gift of nature to someone. From creating and setting up wedding florals for couples, to delivering orders to my regular clients, to gifting my friends with flowers, it always brings me so much joy.
