What was the inspiration behind this shoot? We want to encourage brides and grooms Australia wide, who are wanting something a little bit different but also stress free, to come and Elope with us. We’re a one stop elopement service with everything you need to get hitched. In our area a lot of brides choose to get married by the river, but we want to go further than that and utilise some other great destinations. Encouraging couples to think outside the box and to not conform to the norm. It’s sometimes hard for people to see a vision if they aren’t creatively minded. So we felt we needed to really show people how epic our packages are so they can see what it looks like all together. It's easy to worry too much about outside opinion’s and settle for a wedding thats within their comfort zone. It’s 2019 baby…you do you boo!

What are some of the highlights you had during the shoot process: The shoot process was admittedly quite time consuming. Jess and I are really alike in that we are driven with ideas, so when we have an idea we just go for it. Our shoot process was very swift and a little stressful at times only because we wanted it be a certain way as we are both perfectionists. So much goes into a shoot from styling, colour themes, to lighting on the day and set up and then it’s going back and forth with all businesses and models making sure everyone is on the same page and organising their input etc. Our main highlight was when our dress companies we sourced both said yes ! There may have been a little running man dance done in the lounge room that day. You put so much into it with mood boards etc, so to get two yes’s was definitely a highlight for us!

Did you face any challenges on the day? If so, how did you overcome them? We planned this shoot for about 2 months with a proposed date set in stone. In the week leading up there was a warning for an extremely hot day with temperatures expected over 40 degrees (the days either side were a nice 30 degrees or less!

On the day it was so hot but we all had so much fun (we may have consumed a few margarita’s). Another highlight was getting this arbour into the Venue. Jess’s partner had already left so it was up to her and I to get this arbour in on a nice 40+ day. We took it the easy way through a door and it didn’t fit so we had to carry it a further 100m or so to the other entrance to get it through. However it was still about 1cm too tall this time! So we had to basically roll it back and forth to fit it through the entrance. Only problem was there was about 5 doorways! 40 minutes later and our workout was done for the week.

What was your favourite detail about the shoot day? Jayde - I personally loved Bryony. Her energy and radiance was just addictive. Yep, she was my favourite detail. Jess - My favourite detail was the red shoes that made the dresses against the green cactus pop!

What led you to decide on this venue/shoot location? Being only half an hour from Echuca we knew that we had to get them on board as an option for our Elopement packages. We wanted a creative space within itself in terms of what they offer and how they present themselves. Love & Elope Co is run by a ceremony stylist and a photographer. So aesthetics are everything to us when choosing locations. We want to get inside the bride and grooms mind which was the driving factor for this shoot. A lot of people visit Cactus Country from all over Australia so we wanted to collaborate with them to inspire people to Elope here too. Since doing this shoot so many people have returned to us wanting to now elope at Cactus Country which was our motive behind the shoot. Also how could you not go with this location. I mean it’s like walking into mexico…and TACO’S !!!
