Together for 6 years and high school sweethearts, Jacques and Tash were away on a little holiday on Fitzroy Island when they got up really early on one morning and walked up to the mountain summit. As the sun rose, Jacques bent down on one knee and asked Tash to marry him!
Tash and Jacques were engaged for just over a year before their gorgeous Wedding day at Summergrove Estate. "We love the outdoors and beautiful natural scenery, so when we saw Summergrove we just completely fell in love with the place. Modern – lots of greenery – authentic - romantic was the inspiration behind our Wedding theme." says the lovely Bride, Tash.
The flowers were the favourite detail about the day and Tash tells us that she hadn't given their florist much to really go off, just mentioning that she definitely wanted greenery, whites and a range of pink colours. Lola's Wildflowers said she had so much fun because she got to be as creative as she liked and WOW they loved the result.
"I LOVED my dress. It really was my dream dress. I was quite picky and had a very clear picture in my mind of what I wanted. When we were Bridal shopping, I started to get disappointed because in every store we went to, there was nothing like what I wanted. I was beginning to think it just didn’t exist. White Lily Couture was the 8th store I visited and when I put that dress on I knew it was perfect." says Tash.
Using Australian based Wedding websites and Facebook bridal groups, Tash organised their entire Wedding day herself. "My favourite moment was definitely our ceremony. It was the moment we’d been waiting for, for what feels like forever. Walking down that aisle was the most special moment of my entire life. The pastor that married us has known us for 5 years and we wrote our own wedding vows so it was a very personal ceremony. The definition of marriage to me is choosing to be with the same person forever – no matter how annoying/sick/ugly/old they get. It’s waking up next to your best friend, every day, for the rest of your lives."
Happy Bride Tash offers valuable advice to other couples getting married: "Just remember the most important part of the day is saying - I do. The day before the Wedding, my husband and I are decided that we would let NOTHING upset/stress/annoy us on our perfect day. The day was less than ideal – it rained HARD, people were late, I got a giant muddy footprint on my train, the cake wasn’t straight, family drama etc. etc. But do you know what, we did not care, we had a blast and it was the best day of our lives by far."
