Rhali, a former professional football player, decided to retire to spend more time with Matt who has brain cancer. Their wedding was always going to be epic following their proposal when Matt surprised Rhali on the field at her last professional football game. There were tears all round!

After falling in love with Chapel Ridge at Kulnura New South Wales long before the proposal, Rhali and Matt knew it was going to be the perfect idyllic location for their wedding. Rhali just didn’t expect it to take 9 1/2 years!

The ceremony took place in the grand sandstone chapel. The impressive floor to ceiling windows overlooking the manicured grounds was the perfect backdrop for Rhali and Matt to say I do. It was an emotionally filled service with moments of light heartedness which let their playful side shine through.

Matt was speechless when Rhali walked down the aisle in her extravagant, A-line couture ballgown by @martinalianbridal. It featured stunning sequins and sparkling beading. The voluminous, multi-layer feather and tulle skirt, added a fun, flirty element and created frothy movement with each and every turn.

Floral obsessed Rhali’s brief was that she wanted a “meadow aisle where fairies would want to live amongst” and the ridiculously talented @filmandfoliage delivered! Images of these florals have been shared internationally multiple times and after one glimpse of this wedding and it’s not hard to see why.

They chose to have a relaxed indoor outdoor cocktail reception to match their laidback personalities. The wisteria terrace was the perfect location for an exquisite English cottage garden reception. There was an abundance of coloured candles, exquisite florals and a mix of linen and rattan furniture.

At the reception it was Rhali’s turn to surprised Matt. First it was a change of gowns. This time it was a fitted mermaid gown from Zavana Bridal with a plunging neckline and beaded detailing. She then started singing Sexy Back by JT. A little quirky thing of theirs in which Rhali will start singing anywhere in the house or out in public with Matt responding with the “yeah”. This had all their guests laughing and up dancing and singing.
