A unique historic venue, this venue is a unique coastal yet rural property with incredible views and open spaces. Known for it’s service excellence and epic food your Yandina Experience is one that everyone will remember.

"We were both new graduates at Kingaroy Hospital, Brett's first day working as a Physio and I had been working there for a week as an OT. We had our first conversation in front of the microwave heating up lunch. Over the coming days and weeks, and with knowing no one else in town, we got to know each other as friends, inside and outside of work." Emma shares.

Emma and Brett had previously discussed wanting to be with each other long term but Emma had absolutely no idea about the proposal. It was a huge surprise on the day. Brett had seen a jeweller (Daniel McKenna) and had the ring designed himself.

the proposal.

It was Brett's turn to arrange a "date day" (we take it in turns arranging activities or dates for each other). Brett arranged a jam packed day starting with a hike in the hinterland, followed by lunch at a winery. We spent the afternoon wandering through the quaint Sunshine Coast hinterland towns and the big surprise was when we arrived at Secrets on the Lake and were taken down to the lakeside boat house at sunset. To Emma's surprise there was a beautiful picnic already set up with flowers, blankets, a cheese platter and champagne.

It was then that Emma had an inkling that this might be a proposal, she was right! Brett lead Emma to the jetty on the lake and got down on one knee and popped the question. The whole day was so fun and so romantic. The proposal was followed by a super romantic stay for 2 nights at Secrets on the Lake.

the venue.

The stunning grounds and beautiful scenery. Neil and Sally at Yandina Station are so fantastic to work with, they made the entire day and night extra special.

wedding theme.

We took a lot of inspiration from earthy rustic themes. The most important thing though was that Emma wanted to grow her own flowers for the reception table decorations, which she did @apricotbloom__. We also really loved the beautiful floral creations by Willow Bud for our bouquets, buttonholes and ceremony florals.

Our most favourite moment was seeing each other for the first time at the ceremony as Emma walked out from the old Dairy barn. Not seeing each other since the previous afternoon made for a very emotional walk down the aisle.

The food at Yandina Station was absolutely incredible and we loved all the flowers. But definitely having all our closest friends and family with us to share our most important day was the greatest detail of all.

shopping experience.

It was tough choosing a suit colour. We tossed up between black, blue and beige for a while. Brett settled on beige as it was his favourite and ended up getting his suit from Politix. Emma looked at many dress shops and tried on 20+ dresses. Made with Love though was a clear winner. Such a beautiful selection of dresses and Harlow V2 was the dress for the big day.
