Tasha + Adrian are both dancers and had crossed paths over time at various dance competitions but their first meeting was when Tasha entered the male change room (which she thought was empty) and was startled by a sleeping Adrian who appeared from behind a rack of costumes. "He quickly learnt that I am not too good with jump scares!"

Together for 5 years before Adrian proposed, Adrian’s one mission was to try and surprise Tasha as it is a very difficult thing to do. "I can easily say I have never been so surprised in my life! My favourite time of the year is Christmas, so on boxing day in 2019 we headed to his sisters house to get ready for an event. I am suspicious of everything so they completely covered their tracks with this well thought out story. Next thing I know we are watching a ‘trip vlog’ of his sisters and partners last getaway which quickly turned into a montage of pictures of our family members holding my engagement ring as well as many photos of the ring right next to me when I had no clue!!! He got down on one knee and I couldn’t stop crying of happiness. To top it off, the whole proposal was filmed with cameras set up around the entire room."

wedding venue.  Adrian grew up on a vineyard and I always wished for a wedding at a winery. When we started dating his parents decided to expand their business and open up a restaurant/venue called Russo Estate. We were so lucky the most perfect venue for us was created right next door to where Adrian grew up. For us it was a no brainer to get married at this beautiful venue.

wedding theme inspo. For us we wanted to create a mixture of rustic beauty and pure elegance. This was a little nod to our two very different personalities that we both share. We love being in nature and living a simple life but also love a chance to get dressed up and go somewhere fancy. As we always say ‘porque no los dos'? (why not both)

favourite moment. Adrian: My favourite moment was the first look. We did it privately before the ceremony and I was very nervous. She looked so beautiful and happy and brought me to tears.

Tasha: This is a tough question because the day was full of beautiful memorable moments! If I had to choose I would have to say the dances. Our first dance was so special as we have never danced together before that moment. It was a beautiful routine choreographed by Adrian’s older sister and was a very remarkable moment for us. I then had my father/daughter dance that one of my best friends choreographed. It was a fun routine that ended with some air guitar to AC/DC. A big surprise to my mum and all of our family and friends.

favourite details. There were so many details that were personalised and had special meaning to us even if that wasn’t obvious to everyone there! The cake being one of those details - Adrian’s mum made it which was incredibly meaningful to us!

dress/suit shopping. We both had fantastic experiences when dress/suit shopping. Adrian’s suit was made by YSG Tailors with some beautiful custom touches including a comic book liner and our date stitched inside. My dress was made by Lookbook Bride and was everything I could have hoped for. I couldn’t find the perfect dress so I showed Deanne images of different components I liked from many dresses and she created my dream dress!

resources. A lot of our inspiration came from Pinterest, Instagram and wedding blogs just like To The Aisle!

what does marriage mean to you? To be honest everyone always asks us what is it like now that we are a married couple and our answer is always the same… no different! For us our wedding was a celebration of our love and marriage is a commitment of our future together.

classic stories. To be honest almost everything went wrong haha! This was actually our fourth date after postponing thanks to the spicy cough that shall not be named. Which I have to say was some sort of blessing in disguise as it meant when things went wrong we were not fussed - we were just over the moon our day was finally here! In the week leading up to our big day everything started to unravel (somethings we knew about others our amazing family dealt with and we found out later)! The 2 funniest moments were the champagne tower not going to plan (we did not prepare it properly) and the wishing lanterns not flying up (and almost burning my dress)!!!

advice. Always be open to ideas but at the end of the day make decisions you will both be happy with because it is your day! Breathe and understand things may go wrong - welcome the surprises and consider that everything happens for a reason. Embrace and savour every moment. Your day will be magical but it will also fly by!

wedding songs. During the ceremony we had the amazing MADZ GOT RICH play our songs. We walked down the aisle to ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri, signed our marriage certificate to ‘I Get to Love You’ by Ruelle and our recessional song was ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I’m Yours)’ by Stevie Wonder. Our first dance was to ‘Thinking Out Loud’ by Ed Sheeran.

stand out vendors. Someone that went above and beyond? All of our vendors were absolutely incredible - especially when having to reschedule so many times! We could not recommend each of them enough as well as our amazing family who made our day perfect. Special shoutout to our photographer Yasmin who pushed through being unwell to capture all of our moments and our florist Shann who searched the whole of Victoria for my bouquet flowers when her supplier could not provide them to her!
