Meeting tipsy on the dancefloor of a charity foundation event, Steph + Rob became engaged after 3 years when Rob completely surprised Steph early on a Sunday morning proposing at the reptile park in Somersby Central Coast.

the venue.

We wanted to keep everything local as I am also a small business owner in Terrigal @smikhairterrigal. Stef + I also knew we wanted the whole wedding indoors so Crown Plaza Terrigal Pacific was the perfect place for us.

theme.

The inspiration for our black tie wedding came from us never actually going to a black tie wedding and wanting to keep it romantic as well as different to the weddings we had been to. Stef also loves any time to dress up.

favourite moment.

The whole day was magic so it’s hard to choose just one. Robs favourite moment was when I came through in the second mini dress - he was so surprised.

favourite detail.

Our styling was amazing and our flowers were just as equally amazing - everything came together so well!

shopping experience.

I actually never tried on a wedding dress. My main dress was in the making for almost 2 years by the time I got to walk down the aisle. My experience was incredible by Kel-Leigh Couture. We designed the dress together and she also made my second dress. It was truly an experience.

what does marriage mean to you?
Marriage to us means family, best friends, and endless amount of love.

classic story.

Besides our wedding being postponed 3 times due to Covid, we finally made it down the aisle the fourth time lucky. There was also many ups and downs along the way due to family coming from interstate but we got there in the end.

advice.
The best advice I could give would be to make sure you don’t lose sight as to why you’re getting married. Your day and leading up to it, should mostly be about each other. Also, it helps if you are a very organised person who knows what they like ha ha!

wedding songs.

Our aisle song was never stop by SafetySuit. (Our song since we were together early on)

I also had a traditional Croatian song for my father daughter dance.

Definitely Jen and her team from Madden and Co Events - they went from Styling to Coordinating the whole day and they were absolutely amazing. Sonia from Flower Seekers in Bloom. Also my beautiful hair and make up Britney Ivery for Make Up and Madi Flynn for hair she was also nine months pregnant. My dress designer and maker who delivered my gown and also stayed and dressed me and watch me walk down the aisle Kelly from Kelly Couture amazing. Carmen our Wedding Photographer, her photos were epic - there was so many I could name so many more!
