theme inspiration.
I love neutral colours and the sandstone inside the
reception room made it the perfect backdrop for a fresh yet feminine vibe.
favourite moment.
My favourite moment by far was the first look. We made the
decision a few months before as I was getting so nervous for the ceremony and
wanted to take advantage of the extra time for photos with our bridal party and
immediate family. We wanted them to be involved so we exchanged personal vows
in front of our most important people and it is a moment shared with them I
will cherish forever.
It was how everything came together! All the small details from the invites, table settings, bridal party outfits etc, everything just felt so cohesive exactly how I envisioned it.
I bought my wedding dress very early on (a little impulsively) and started second guessing it about a year out from our original date. I had been obsessed with Leah Da Gloria since I got engaged but thought they would be out of my price range. I went with my girlfriend who was getting married 2 weeks before me to try on dresses and just knew I had to book my own appointment. I found my DREAM dress and had the best experience with Leah. She was so relaxed and easy going that going to the fitting felt like hanging out with a friend.
I didn’t want my first dress to go to waste so I had it tailored into a mini that I could change into. It was the best thing I did!
what does marriage
mean to you?
My husband thinks marriage means less gym and more McFlurrys haha
We’ve always known that we were meant for each other, but after the wedding we felt more ‘connected.’ We actually feel like we are our own little family now.
classic story?
My favourite moment was hearing how emotional Maech’s best
man was for the entire day! He was a hit with his speech and it was just so
heartwarming to see how much this day meant to their friendship!
This might be hard to make happen but plan the wedding with a friend who is planning her wedding! My girlfriend got engaged 2 weeks after me and we both had to postpone during lockdown and ended up getting married 2 weeks apart. Having that support system who understood how I was feeling every step of the way was irreplaceable. From sharing vendors to bouncing ideas or talking each other down when nobody else understood why I was stressed about flowers (seems like a small issue now lol). I couldn’t have done it without her!
One piece of advice for your wedding day would be to have someone remind you in moments throughout the day to stop, take a deep breath and soak it all in. You are floating on cloud nine and swept off your feet so try your best to remember the feeling of that day and take in the little details around you.
Aisle song - Ready to fall, Boundary Run.
First Dance - Beautiful, Mariah Carey and Miguel
stand out vendors.
- Having Jen from Madden & Co Events part of my day, especially during the final months, postponing and covid restrictions was a ‘must have’. There was one moment where we noticed I had one less bouquet than bridesmaids. Jen was running around asking everyone who had it, and then it hit me. I hadn’t added an additional bouquet when I added another bridesmaid at the last minute. Jess (the florist) ended up making one up on the spot, with about 5 minutes before the ceremony!
- Enzo Weddings.... Wow. We knew we had picked the right venue
but the service they provided to my husband and I and all our guests was beyond
what we imagined!
- Daniel’s ability to capture our special moments in a way
that suits our ‘style’.
- Tannah from Oberon Lane has the most amazing voice, and she
really got the party going as a DJ too.
Honestly, everyone was absolutely amazing.
