Set against the rugged cliffs of Miami Beach, on the Gold Coast - Creatives, Maleika from Calika.co and Johanna at Boho Luxe and Co came together to celebrate Love and Freedom. "With this shoot we really wanted to strip back the pallet and draw inspiration from our natural surroundings. Our goal was to create cohesion between the space and the love story itself and allow them to speak to one another in a way that felt raw and beautiful." Maleika shares.

From the dresses selected; Mila and Scarlett by Ella Moda to the dried, dramatic botanicals by Wilde Botanicals and the signature shell embellishments by Esthetic Bride layered over Silk and Bramble's effortless silks and table runners - everything was chosen to encapsulate the style of today alongside the freedom of romance and the sea.

highlights. Certainly capturing our real couple, Oli + Alesha, being with one another amidst the setting. It is an absolute highlight seeing all the aspects of the shoot come together but it’s the love story at the centre of this shoot that sets these images alight!

challenges. Shooting on the beach, navigating the tide and the weather was probably the most difficult aspect when planning this shoot. The spot we chose gets blocked off during high tides so it was a relief when we found a time both the tide was out and the team could come together to create. The wind was incredibly challenging - overcoming that we almost just had to embrace it and let it add to the shoot instead of trying to control.

location. We wanted somewhere natural, easy and local. It was important for us to reimagine our Gold Coast coastline. Our core team were a group of local vendors so it was important to keep that locality whilst creating something a little other worldly too.

favourite detail. The dresses from Ella Moda Bridal were a personal highlight. Finding the right gowns was key to bringing a certain level of editorial to this shoot. The styled table and botanicals by Boho Luxe & Co and Wilde Botanicals was also a highlight. It was so beautiful to have that place setting right up against the ocean.

favourite moment. We actually have a part two of this shoot coming which highlights another Ella Moda gown but was shot with the couple partying the night away on the beach - this was a shorter gown and we loved the opportunity to capture a different aspect of the wedding day after dusk.
