An open function space of tranquility & beauty, the Pialligo Estate evokes tradition and elegance. Canberra based photographer Zelda Green, spotted this beautiful wedding ceremony & reception venue with this styled wedding inspiration shoot in mind - bringing a tuscan twist with the stunning architecture, history, olive groves and spectacular lawns. Located along the Molonglo River, Parliament House set amongst the orchard and vineyard background is the only reminder that you are in fact, still in Canberra!

What was the inspiration behind this shoot? Feminine, romantic and Tuscanesque. These are the qualities I wanted to infuse into this shoot. The olive groves and citrus orchards at the beautiful Pialligo Estate made the perfect backdrop for this and I knew it would make for a striking, Mediterranean-like backdrop. Who says you can’t bring Tuscany to your wedding in Canberra!
What are some of the highlights you had during the shoot process: Meeting some amazing new vendors and colleagues in the wedding industry. The team that I worked with on this shoot are incredibly talented and some of the best in Canberra. I mean check out that cake and table setting!!
Did you face any challenges on the day? If so, how did you overcome them? As usual the main challenge on the day is the thing that we can’t control...weather. Luckily it didn’t thunderstorm as it had been threatening to the entire day. You can see how overcast it was in the photos and this was a blessing because it acted as a giant soft box giving us really beautiful soft light for the shoot.
What led you to decide on this venue/shoot location? Pialligo Estate is both a wedding ceremony and reception venue and I just love it! It’s one of my favourite venues in Canberra and I can’t wait to shoot there again. You can’t beat an olive grove setting for your wedding, it ticks all the boxes.
What was your favourite detail about the shoot day? My gorgeous 'bride and groom', Bec and Tom. They were incredibly professional and fun to work with and it doesn’t hurt that they’re so photogenic!
