These two wonderful souls were married at Jodie's father's house in Tallai, under a tipi-styled arbor. Jodie wore a Grace Loves Lace dress and carried a stunning bouquet made by The Nesst. It was a low-key, relaxed and fun day, that was also filled with some tears and loss. Josh & Jodie lost their beloved family dog of 13 years, Rusty, a few weeks before the Wedding. There had been plans for Rusty to attend the Wedding and they were absolutely heartbroken when he passed away, but decided to dedicate parts of their day to honour him and the impact he had on their family. There wasn't a dry eye in the place when the celebrant talked of Rusty's unconditional love and his presence up in doggy-heaven during the ceremony (we may have shed a few tears behind the camera).
During their portrait session, Josh & Jodie (alongside their other furbaby Mia, Rusty's sister) emptied his ashes into his favourite creek at their local park where they would play. It was a beautiful send off for a beautiful puppy, and our hearts ached for Jodie and Josh who said their goodbyes to Rusty. The reception was held back at Jodie's father's property under a tipi tent, with a dessert bar, epic dancing and laughter. Josh and Jodie's day was the perfect example of a Wedding not as focused on venues and designer gowns as it was celebrating companionship, love and joy surrounded by the people they hold most dear - Brooklyn, Wood & Willow.
How did the two of you meet? Through mutual friends
Tell us about the proposal: Josh planned a surprise weekend away in Berry, NSW (we were living in Sydney at the time). We stayed at the amazing Mt Hay Retreat…. Josh kept asking to go for a walk or have a picnic but it was sooo windy I kept refusing. We ended up making a platter and watching the sunset on our balcony, Josh asked me to marry him there.
What led you to decide on your Wedding venue? Josh's Father owns a property in Tallai and I had my heart set on having it there. It took some convincing for Josh to agree but we couldn’t have picked a better venue for us. We really didn’t want to have a curfew or restrictions so this was the perfect place for us.

What was the inspiration behind your Wedding theme? Natural and neutral tones with white and greenery if that's even is a theme? (Oh yes, how it is!) We wanted simple but enough to think you weren’t 100m away from our house in a shed. It turned out amazing and I wouldn’t change a thing.
Your most favourite moment/s of the day: A month before our Wedding, our beautiful dog of 13 years sadly passed away. We were absolutely devastated he wouldn’t be there with us so we really wanted him to be included on the day. We decided to honour Rusty by spreading his ashes at the park he loved to play in and have this captured by our wonderful photographers and videographers. In the afternoon sun, down by the little creek, we said goodbye to Rusty and emptied his ashes out. A big thank you to our vendors for embracing our requests and being so supportive.
What was your favourite details about the day? The tipi and balloon garland really tied everything together and my bouquet was to die for - I gave Ness from Nesst free reign with my flowers with little information about what I wanted and she did not disappoint.
Tell us about your dress: I had always wanted a Grace Loves Lace gown and already had one picked out the one I wanted before I went in - but it turns out it I fell in love with another while I was there and went with the MAI. The experience was great and they certainly make you feel very comfortable.

What does marriage mean to you? Marriage is about sharing your bed and ALL your personal space but also sharing all of those personal moments you wouldn’t want to share with anyone else.
Advice: Try not to get overwhelmed with all the options and little things, stick to what you want and to keep it simple.

Any stand out vendors for the day? Someone that went above and beyond? Everyone was amazing - But Brooklyn and Rachel (Wood & Willow) were outstanding. We have never been photographed and are pretty uncomfortable in front of the camera, but they made us feel like the cameras weren’t even there. The communication leading up to the day was informative and very organised and we got our photos back after one week!!! The presentation of the box of photos was so special and so well done. They were just such happy people, willing to help with anything.
We had so much fun at our Wedding - all we wanted to do was drink, eat and dance and we certainly did that. All formalities were over by 7pm which meant plenty of bad dance moves on the dance floor and fun memories made.
