MIAMI MARKETTA WEDDING STYLED SHOOT GOLD COAST

"For this shoot I wanted to do something different and darker than the normal. I wanted to step outside of what I’ve normally been doing.. I’m obsessed with rich tones and textures and like everyone right now - burgundy & gold! This shoot includes everything I love, bright neon lights, deep rich burgundy colours, sparkling sequins, amazing florals, chandeliers, tassels & gold elements. I wanted the location to contrast the opulence of the theming being a industrial Marketta venue. However it still had lots of nods to the past. The venue has this amazing Art Deco style print of birds that we also took inspiration from and incorporated into some images. For the dining setting, I wanted to evoke a mood of glamour, opulence with a sense of history and grandeur.

Xavier from Xavier Nicolle Flowers used flowers that would embody the opulent mood of the shot. The florals were all about luxury with large roses and cymbidium orchids being the main feature. Xavier has a love of unusual leaves so Alocasia leaves were included in the bouquet and arbour. She worked the industrial arbour into a magnificent garden which became the backdrop for our couple to share their love in.

Glitzy Prints took the gold elements from the table, the on trend geo shapes and added some burgundy tassels for texture. The cake from Evie May Cake Design was inspired by precious gems and gold metallics... marrying in to my luxe inspiration. An unconventional Bride and Groom wearing sequins and a lounging suit demonstrates the freedom to wed in attire that is unexpected yet still central to the celebration of marriage.

The highlights of my afternoon were working with Xavier in a room full of burgundy blooms and to have it come together better than I had ever imagined. I loved watching her in her element and seeing what was being created right before my eyes. Her installation really hit the mark and I was so happy she trusted me and my vision.

Eliza from White Fox Studios really captured the mood and the details of the shoot perfectly. Her stunning style of photography perfectly match the vibes we we're going for and she went above and beyond what we'd hoped for. The obstacles we had to overcome was definitely the hash lighting coming through the top panel of the wall. But after some adjustments and quick thinking, we overcome that and the rest of the afternoon went amazing.
