KRISTY X KYLE

KRISTY & KYLE YANDINA STATION WEDDING SUNSHINE COAST
"Marriage to us is another chapter added to our love story. We are the best of friends and as we grow together we always do so as Team KB." Kristy & Kyle

How did the two of you meet? We met each through work. At the time Kyle was working for a supplier for the company I was working on reception for at the time. As corny as it sounds, we do see it as fate that brought us together. Kyle worked in the office, so he was filling in for our work colleague that worked out of the office for a small period. Once a week over for a couple of months he would visit to re-stock our Warehouse. He would have to quickly sign in before heading out to the warehouse and sign back out again.

Each visit the signing in and out took longer and longer, just good conversation/banter when he would visit. I found myself looking forward to his weekly visit and it wasn’t until he mentioned he tried to look me up on facebook that I thought there was something more there. I then sneakily gave him my number and have never looked back.

How long were you together before your engagement?
4.5 years

Tell us about the proposal: We love the outdoors and exploring new places, Kyle organised breakfast and an early drive up to a mountain lookout way off the beaten track. We set up on the side of a mountain, cooked a great brekkie and some nice juice just enjoying the view. As I turned, he knelt down on one knee and proposed and of course I said yes.

What led you to decide on your Wedding venue?
We wanted a hinterland venue, either Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast. We planned a full day up at the Sunshine Coast first as we had family from up to take into consideration. Our first venue was Yandina Station, fell in love with the venue and scenery immediately and cancelled our plans for the rest of the day, it was a no brainer.

What was the inspiration behind your Wedding theme? We wanted the beauty of the venue to set the scene, the relaxed country feel was what we were after. A romantic influence was added to compliment the scenery.

What was your favourite detail about the day? Our favourite details without a doubt were the native floral arrangements. Lia from the Vintage Flower Box together with my Kristen sister/sister in law did an amazing job. Those flower chandeliers, wow.

Tell us about your dress: It did not take long to find my dress, only went to the one place and was referred to Kate by a family friend. Kate’s hospitality and guidance and option to Design my own Dress made the entire experience that bit more special.

Most favourite moment of the day: The moment we both locked eyes on each other at the ceremony.

What does marriage mean to you? Marriage to us is another chapter added to our love story. We are the best of friends and as we grow together we always do so as Team KB.

Any funny stories from the day? We had the privilege of Kristy’s Uncle Jeff conduct the ceremony and he called Kyle - Cryle. Well played.

What advice would you offer to other couples planning a Wedding? Remember that at the end of the day it is about the two of you. Don’t stress about wanting to be fair and please everyone as it is literally impossible. Enjoy the little things. Don’t skimp on photography that is a must and will last a lifetime.

Were there any stand out vendors for the day? Someone that went above and beyond? In all honest they were all amazing. Vera & Pavel did such a wonderful job capturing so many amazing moments, the highlight video was absolutely sensational. Flowers were incredible Lia Bassi did a phenomenal job on the native scheme and those absolutely outstanding chandeliers. The cake was baked by our beautiful grandmother in-law Helga who baked us an incredible Wedding cake and lastly the musicians, wow. Johanna & Jayden are an acoustic duo who did such an incredible job. Both have beautiful voices and play so well together definitely a major highlight hearing them. Our Wedding favours were from family friends of ours, Kristy’s best friend Kylie (bridesmaid) her parents have an Apiary business and these were driven all the way from Blacks Beach in Mackay - Kristy.
