maleny manor
82 wedding guestsMarnie + Michale first met over 6 years ago at their friend’s gym, however at that point it was only in passing that they spoke. Fast-forward a year, Marnie and Michael’s sister ‘Sheldyn’ moved in together. "At this point, we discovered that we have lots of mutual friends, which meant we began to spend more and more time together." It wasn’t long after this, that Michael asked Marnie out to dinner.

Together for 3 and a half years before, unbeknown to Marnie, Michael had been trying to organize a
proposal on the beach with Dexter and Douglas. However, Marnie constantly had
other plans in mind, which always interrupted his proposal plans. "On one Friday
afternoon, Michael suggested we go to the beach, however his plans once again
had to change due to beach conditions. Instead, we went for a walk at our
favourite place, along Kedron Brooke Creek. There was no one in sight, Michael
decided to throw the ball for the dogs and went down while faking a shoulder
injury. As I walked over to ensure he was okay, he surprised me by pulling a
ring out of his pocket and asking me to marry him. I was in complete shock and
was speechless. What felt like a lifetime to Michael but it only being a few
minutes I finally found my words and said yes! Michael is known to be the funny
guy in the room and I am extremely gullible. So it is of no surprise that he
throws a joke to try and trick me while proposing."

the venue.
We love the Sunshine Coast hinterland or beach vibes! We only ended up looking at two venues and we loved how everything was in one location, the beautiful views and all the inclusions within its costs at Maleny Manor.
wedding theme.
We liked simple yet elegant. We didn’t want anything too over the top and like very calm earthy tone feels.
favourite moment.
There were lots of favourite parts of our day - The speeches and the MCing for the night. Everyone was enjoying all the stories/speeches and were laughing all night long. We then hit the dancefloor for the rest of the night. We both really enjoyed including the sparkler exist as well! And lastly, we loved having our fur boys ‘Dexter and Douglas’ be a part of our special day.
We did DIY invites and menus for the guests and we continued
that theme/style through the ceremony and reception. We decided to give all our
guests personalised stubbie coolers as a reminder of our wedding!

-Create a spreadsheet with all your vendors, details and costs. Always follow up weeks out and the week of with your vendors and ensure you include your date and times within your email/message to ensure everyone has the correct details.
-Try to stick to your budget (This is difficult and I
didn’t follow this rule haha)
-Ensure it s a day about you two!
-Take a moment away with your husband or wife to take it the
entire day/night with all your loved one around you.
