wedding date 30 december 2021
groom's favourite moment.
Liam’s favourite moment of the day was the bridal party entrance to the reception - Each of our bridesmaids and
Groomsman had a unique entry and our Best Man (Liam’s brother) pretended to propose to the Maid of Honour (his
girlfriend)
We wanted our day to reflect our faith and made an effort to include worship and communion as a part of the
ceremony. It was so important to us that our day was centred around God, as our marriage will be. We chose to write our own vows. We felt it added a personal touch and we both had lots of memories to share. My grandparents, who live in Tasmania, were not able to travel to be at the wedding. They send a special message to
be read out to everyone at the reception which was so special and emotional for my family.
We decided to go with a rustic theme to match the beautiful Gordon Country location and barn. Sage greens and rust
oranges were our primary colours and Jacinta Lax (Lace & Barrel) did a beautiful job of tying everything together to
match perfectly.
Choosing a photographer was easy as Liam and I have worked with Tessa Cox in the past and are such big fans of her
amazing work. Our videographer, Renee Bruggemann (Earthbound Stories) did
such an amazing job and was super flexible to all our requests. My mum and I spent some time deciding on hair and
makeup vendors by researching social media and websites and we were so happy with our decision.
Both vendors
(Tyneale Hahn and Sarah Courtney) were so professional and made the day so special. We found Jacinta Lax (Lace &
Barrel) who also did a stunning job of our styling and florals. My mum found Sweet Philosophy Cakes and we reached out to ask them to do the cake, they were also very professional and helpful.
Some of our unvaccinated family and friends weren’t able to make the wedding as vaccines were mandated. This was
upsetting for us but we’re so glad we had such an amazing videographer and photographer to capture the whole day
to share these moments with them all! The thought of having our Wedding featured is also exciting – this will be so
wonderful to share with our family.
advice.
My advice for future brides would be to plan the day to be exactly what you and your fiancé want. Don’t feel
pressured to do certain traditions for the sake of it. Liam and I wanted our wedding to be super relaxed and fun so we
made it that way so we could enjoy the entire day.
