See inside Chloe + Tom's lush Tallagandra Hill Winery wedding featuring a gorgeous olive green and white colour palette and long table reception set in the newly converted wine shed venue. Together for two years before Tom proposed, Chloe + Tom working together at a local real estate agency years ago. Their morning coffee catch ups turned into lunches and lunches turned into dinner dates.

the proposal.

It was the 7th July in 2019, Tom took me on a Sunday drive into the country to Crookwell where his nan grew up. We were almost there, when he took a surprise turn into the driveway of an old community hall in a little place called ‘Grubben Gullen’ - little did I know at the time that it was the very hall where his grandparents met and went dancing way back when. We got out of the car and walked towards the beautiful old building and as I was admiring the significance of where we were standing he got down on one knee and proposed in the same spot his pop proposed to his nan over 60 years ago – I couldn’t of asked for a more perfect proposal.

the venue.

Tom always envisaged getting married in the country and I always dreamt of a winery wedding, so Tallagandra Hill Winery in Gundaroo was the perfect fit. As soon as we drove into the property we fell in love with its rustic charm, sprawling green vineyards and newly converted wine shed venue - plus the owners are the most amazing people so it was an easy decision for us. Plus, the venue offered on-site accommodation with three, beautiful new cabins which made it so convenient and such an effortless experience!

the theme.

The rustic theme of our wedding complimented the venue and olive green and white was our colour palette, drawing on inspiration from the beautiful surrounds and vineyard. We had a combination of white roses, peonies and eucalyptus in our floral displays, olive green linen napkins, wine cork place setting stands (a word to the wiser, get corks that have already been halved unless you’ve got a spare 6 hours like me…) and clusters of pillar candles on each long table to set the mood.

favourite moments.

Every moment is so darn special. From seeing Tom’s reaction as I walked down the aisle, dancing into our reception to the sound of our family and friends cheering, our first dance…But nothing tops that incredible moment when you turn to face all your nearest and dearest after the ceremony and get announced as Mr and Mrs!

favourite detail.

So many little details go into making the day what you want it to be and each and every one of our vendors did an incredible job to make it our dream wedding… But the most important detail is that everyone was having an absolute ball!

suit + dress shopping.

The ladies at Annabel’s in Kingston were lovely and Tom had a great experience at MJ Bale in the City.

After we got engaged, I pinned my dream wedding dress by designer Enzoani on Pinterest and 6 months later Annabel’s posted a photo on their Instagram that they had just got the dress in store… I was in the next day to buy it!

what does marriage mean to you?

Marriage to me means laughing together endlessly, having someone to share your dreams and amazing adventures with and trusting and supporting each other through anything life throws your way.

advice.

Start your planning early. Lock in a vision of what you want and go with your gut when selecting your venue and vendors.

There’s no point in trying on 20 dresses or walking into 10 venues… when you know, you know. Also, just relax. You’re the only people that will notice if something doesn’t go according to plan… and even if it doesn’t, they are usually the moments that you’ll look back and laugh about for years to come.

Enjoy the planning phase, it all goes by so quickly so soak it all up and enjoy every minute of it.

stand out vendors.

Honestly, all of our vendors were absolutely incredible. But a special shout out to our florist from Jamison Flowers who braved the biggest storm just before the ceremony who was up on ladder holding our arbour display to make sure it didn’t get swept away in the wind.
