wedding date 19 september 2020
30 wedding guests - parents + large bridal party
Therese + Liam saw each other for the first time 20 years ago on a school bus - and met officially 10 years later at a sandwich shop. After 7 years together, Liam proposed at the tip of the cape of Fraser Island on a camping trip at the top of a sand dune looking out over the Ocean. "This is our favourite place and quite the mission to get to. It was absolutely magical (see my instagram pics for a peak) @theresehadjia"
the venue.
We decided to have the wedding at our own farm (Willowgate), to make it more intimate with our small elopement crowd of parents and Bridal Party. We had an incredible dinner afterwards and accommodated everyone at the Bundanoon Guest House which was filled with warmth and charm.
theme inspiration.
We planned the wedding date around the day that the old pear tree would go into full blossom and planned the theme around that.
favourite moment.
Seeing my incredible man's face at the end of that aisle.
Also, surprising our bridal party, who thought they were dressing up for an engagement shoot before our wedding.
favourite detail.
Having such a small intimate crowd.
Our photographer, Muse Photography was flawless, her beautiful and calm energy was exactly what I needed whilst getting ready to walk down the isle and she went to great lengths to capture every moment.
The harp player and the white carpet underneath the Old pear Tree which was filled with blossoms.
The ‘ring warming’ we incorporated during our ceremony- our rings were passed around to each person to hold and wish their good blessings.
My R M Williams which R M Williams custom made for our special day and will last a lifetime.
The natural beauty of the day, the property came to life. Music filled the air and there was nothing but love.
So quick and easy, I found my dress and had it hanging in my getting ready room within a couple of weeks!
Liam's suit experience was also flawless, the attention to detail was fantastic.
what does marriage mean to you?
Marriage is a celebration of love and the beginning of a lifetime adventure of pure commitment and partnership.
classic stories.
We successfully pulled off a surprise wedding without even the maid of honour cottoning on! We managed to trick everyone to dress in their finest outfits and treated them to a magical day and night.
advice.
Use Pinterest to source some inspiration, set a theme and focus on creating a beautiful experience for your loved ones.
Instagram is a great resource to find vendors. Be purposeful but decisive.
Invest in a wedding coordinator to ensure the day runs smoothly.
Lock it all in and then enjoy the ride. Know that not every detail will go to plan and that is just part of the beauty of it.
Aisle: What a wonderful world (Harp version)
Recessional: I can help falling in love with you (Harp Version)
First Dance: Perfect Ed Sherin (to be had one year from our wedding due to covid)
stand out vendors:
Our photographer Teresa Brincat from Muse Photography. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to have by my side on the day and her work is absolutely beyond stunning!
Our Celebrant Deb Carmody also made the effort to come all the way out to the property prior to talk us through and prepare us for the day.
