Townsville wedding creatives join forces to bring you a beautifully crafted wooden crescent moon backdrop, stunning floral design and gold accents throughout the beautifully setup picnic - this warm, bohemian desert romance shoot creates a dreamy ambience to set your imagination running. "As 2020 has been a wild year, and those of us in the wedding industry have certainly felt the blow quite significantly.

This collaboration started off with the intention of being a very very simple shoot, just for a little creative fun with only a handful of vendors. But as we started swapping ideas, vibes and Inspo pics it was clear that something a little more extravagant was called for." The rest of the amazing team was called in, the location was decided and their once simple idea grew into a bohemian desert romance dream, with celestial vibes enhanced with subtle luxe accents and oozing with otherworldly blooms.

highlights: Seeing all the vendors all coming together to combine their magic at this location, creating such a gorgeous scene was simply incredible. There is such a beautiful energy when creatives come together and their work comes to life.

challenges: The epic crescent moon backdrop (while completely worth it!) was a little bit of trouble to transport as the location was about a 25 minute drive on the highway out of town and it had to survive the journey strapped to roof racks! Thankfully it survived both trips in tact, in spite of a couple of stop checks along the way!

The other obstacle we faced was the fact that the location is actually a tidal area. So it took a couple of trips out to the site by various vendors to check that our desired shoot time would not collide with high tide, potentially resulting in our beautiful setup sinking into the sand!

what led you to decide on this shoot location? We love that it’s secluded and incredibly beautiful. It was magical in its own right. We wanted to create something unique and simple that would naturally blend with the surroundings without taking anything away from it but subtly adding to it with every well thought out detail. The salt flats were the ideal location for what we were trying to achieve. The sunset behind the hills gave that golden hour glow such a breathtaking effect that really enhanced what we had created perfectly.

favourite detail: I think we can all agree that our amazing moon was such a point of difference for our shoot setting it apart from others currently trending. The gold accents of the picnic setting especially in the resin coasters also just went such a long way in really tying all the elements together.

favourite moment: When the sun did finally drop behind the hills, we got to light the cascading array of candles, and oh what a mood that created... as though the evening hadn’t been beautiful enough, this really sparked an unreal magic.
