Kasey and Trent were together for 2 years when Trent proposed. The nerves kicked in during a walk they both knew could be the proposal! Kasey had picked the ring and during a walk along a beach near where they lived, Trent popped the anticipated question! Kasey had ahigh school crush on Trent and the two got together on a rainy eve four years ago when Kasey's car had broken down and Trent offered to come to the rescue.
What led you to decide on your Wedding location? We were meant to have it on a friend’s property but they separated so I had to come up with a last minute plan B. Then the fig trees we were going to get married under died and had to be cut down so another last minute change to inside the arena in the Mullumbimby showground.
Most favourite moment: it was all amazing! The whole day was just so magical. Clearest blue sky. The food, people, dancing all of it was special. Our first dance I must say was pretty fun! And my beautiful friend Nicki Convine singing as I walked down the aisle.

What was the inspiration behind your Wedding theme? Well, I’m a pretty casual, Boho- Gypsy kind of girl. I had worked in the wedding industry for 15 years so I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted for the day. I liked Autumn tones like browns, oranges, reds, cream etc. and of course living in the Byron area it needed a Kombi and festival tents! My nan had a beautiful white cascading bouquet for her wedding so she was my inspiration for my flowers. I have never liked the normal sit down at a table type weddings so I had a food truck, a grazing table and a mandala cheese cake and everyone just sat around in the tents or danced so it wasnt so formal.
Favourite detail: Our cake was so beautiful I wish I got more photos of it! The Soirée Festival Tents were so beautiful. The Kombi. We had dried rose petals for confetti that was pretty cool too. Though my flowers by The French Petal were heavenly too. Gosh I can’t decide!
How was your dress shopping experience overall? Amazing! We went to Grace Loves Lace such a perfect experience. It was the first dress I tried on of course.
What does marriage mean to you? Being real with each other. And allowing each other to still be free to be themselves. Two people walking alongside each other through life’s ups and downs. Support means a lot to me too. To support each other and have each others back when times get tough. I won’t lie this year has had its challenges for us but we are getting through it day by day. I was 5 months pregnant at our wedding so our boy Banjo is ONE now and certainly adds to the challenge of married life but I feel so blessed and fulfilled to have him complete our little family.

Any classic stories you want to share from the day? Well the only thing I can think of is me being 5 months pregnant for the wedding. I picked and got measured for my absolute dream dress before I fell pregnant. Thank god it was a stretchy dress!! My friend that had a market stall just up from my psychic reading tent, was selling kids clothes that she makes. I had her alter my dress probably about 3 times! It only just got on the day. Even when I put it on you could hear threads tearing haha I asked the baby to wait to pop out till after the wedding as he had just started to a few days prior to our big day!
Advice: Keep it simple! Our budget was $15000 which I think we did pretty well in that budget! It’s so easy to blow it all out! Just enjoy your day! And do your research and ask around I guess?

Wedding songs: My good friend sung us down the aisle to 'love lifts us up where we belong.' Our first dance was 'I don’t know much but I know I love you' and 'Sweet Caroline' followed by 'I've had the time of my life' where everyone joined in. And I have to say I think that was my absolute highlight of the day!
Any stand out vendors for the day? They were all absolutely amazing! But I’d have to say the BC Celebrant and Bird and Boy Photography were really stand out! Everyone raved about how good our celebrant was and also how easy going and friendly our photographer Jerome was, not to mention his beautiful images that came back really quick! Our Kombi guy was great too!
