Nicole and Mark enjoyed an exciting two years of travel adventures together before Mark proposed. Travelling to Japan, Singapore, Bali, Canada, USA and Iceland with a few trips to Sydney and Melbourne in there too after meeting via a dating app, it thymes with Kinder. "Our first date was at the waterfront bar in Perth City, The Lucky Shag. Mark jokes that he was my first date and I was his one hundred and first.
what was the inspiration behind your Wedding theme? Simple and minimalistic, we focussed more on sharing a personal ceremony with our loved ones and then throwing a great party!
favourite moment: The speeches were all phenomenal, everyone laughed so much. The whole day we felt surrounded with happiness and love, it was the best feeling.
favourite detail: Our invites were very special to us, Mark’s sister Danika and her husband Doug run their own letterpress business and they product high quality bespoke stationery from their workshop in Albury NSW. They personally made the most beautiful invitations and wedding stationery for us, we are so lucky.
what does marriage mean to you? Nicole - to me marriage is choosing that one special person to do life with, to share every up and down, every adventure, you always have your partner-in-crime by your side.
any stories you want to share from the day? There was one particular dance-floor moment that tops them all, the best friend of Nicole (we won’t name her haha) took her dance moves to a whole new level and unfortunately as all great performers know accidents can happen. The dancing diva slipped mid dip and fell on her arm... a trip to the hospital that night confirmed it was a broken elbow and she had surgery on Monday following the wedding. Whoops!
stand out vendors: Easily this was our brilliant fun-loving photographer Ayzia Jade. She arrived early, left late and she had us organised through the day to make sure we were running on time but still having fun and laughing with us. We had the best time with Ayzia and we are still blown away with the quality of images she produced for us of our special day.
wedding songs
I walked down the aisle to: Hold you in my arms - Ray LaMontange
our recessional song was Forever - Ben Harper
we shared our first dance as husband and wife to First day of my life - Bright Eyes.
They were all very personal to us as a couple.
