Dominique + Daniel met in high school (high school sweethearts awwwwww) and were friends for years until year 11 for Dom and year 12 for Daniel when the two started dating. Together for just over 6 years before Daniel proposed while on a two week campervan holiday around the South Island of New Zealand. "We were in a little coastal town called, Hokitika. We were watching the sun set with food and drinks on the beach when Daniel got down on one knee and finally asked - after a few drinks to get the confidence up." Dominique laughs.

what led you to decide on the rocks your wedding venue? I always wanted to get married on the Sunshine Coast with a mixture of beach and hinterland vibes so The Rocks was perfect, as it is right on the Maroochy River and has a rustic theme to it. The Rocks was actually the only venue I looked at and Daniel got to see it with Facetime and then on the day.
what was the inspiration behind your wedding theme? Minimalistic and boho - we wanted it to be low key and just one big party. And as I said above with The Rocks, being very rustic, the vibe fitted extremely well with the boho theme.
favourite moment: Daniel: watching Dom walk down the aisle (brought a tear to the eye) Dom: the vows (lighthearted mostly and little bit serious) and the dancing later in the night.
favourite detail: our cake was amazing (@confettiwhip)
how was your dress/suit shopping experience overall? Dom: I always wanted a boho, non -traditional dress so when I found Grace Loves Lace, I went down to their showroom on the Gold Coast and tried on a few but was sold straight away on mine. I went to a few other showrooms but all the dresses weren’t me and too traditional (I wanted to wear no shoes, that’s how non traditional I wanted it) Daniel: classic male done in one day....
advice: Don’t sweat the small things, embrace it and take it all in. Best day of your life!
stand out vendors: Everyone! venue @TheRocksyandina, photography @WhiteParrotPhotographyandfilm, hair and makeup @Halohairbodybeauty. But our venue coordinator made the day run super smoothly and eased all the nerves.
