Central Queensland has a vast amount of untapped creative talent and beautiful backdrops. I wanted to showcase as much of this as we could through our shoot. From the country vibes of Calliope, to our beautiful beach backdrops through to our yacht filled marina in Gladstone the options to create a romantic wedding shoot were endless.
We thought the choice of a boho theme focusing on pastels, feathers and lace to create a romantic and relaxed vibe would suit our region and our team of creatives perfectly.

What are some of the highlights you had during the shoot process: Watching the passion of all of the creatives involved was definitely a highlight. With the challenges an outdoor shoot can have, it was inspiring to watch the shoot change direction and evolve whilst still maintaining our main inspiration of showcasing our uniqueness. If I was planning my Wedding again, I would be excited to have this team a part of my day.
Did you face any challenges on the day? Planning an outdoor photoshoot always has its challenges but the challenges we faced were not something one would normally plan for. This shoot happened to right in the middle of the recent severe Queensland bush fires and Gladstone had them blazing on all sides creating a blanket of smoke on the day. Undeterred, our creativity ignited, we decided to try something out of the box. We sourced an indoor space perfect for the first backdrop. With a beautiful, open foyer as our playground, our shoot took on a life of its own. Still wanting to incorporate the beautiful outdoors despite the surrounding conditions, so we moved the shoot to the beautiful Tannum Sands Beach. The sun was red from the fires which was throwing an amazing light. We were excited to see the end result.
What was your favourite detail about the shoot day? Being a makeup artist, the Bridal styling is always my favourite. The planning started as a group of creatives sharing some inspirational ideas and being able to see the behind the scenes planning and the individual talents of the creatives come together with a final look on the day was stunning! Our model Shannae looked amazing and every girls dream for her Wedding day.
Favourite moment/s from the day: Watching Hayley, our photographer, work. She has a relaxed calm vibe about her and watching her pick her backdrops and angles you knew the photos would turn out amazing.
