The beauty of a styled shoot is using imagination to create the perfect scenario to showcase my photography style and the amazingly talented vendors. This shoot was organised specifically for this magazine feature and I would like to say a huge thank you to all my wonderful vendors as well as the models involved! I was amazed at just how quickly it came together. It is so empowering to work with other creative minds & I always love hearing my vendors ideas.That’s the beauty of a styled shoot. I myself am a country girl, so naturally, country styled Weddings are one of my most favourites to shoot, so of course, I went for an open paddock. There was no question when it came to the location site, I knew I wanted it in a beautiful open paddock with long grass. We narrowed it down to either my property or Lisel’s (the very talented florist). In the end, Lisel’s property was more convenient, so Lisel’s property it was. I’m so glad we did or we wouldn’t have had the most beautiful little friend accompany us! Lisel’s adorable little puppy, Rosita. She had us all in the palm of her hand.
For this particular shoot, I was working with some of my favourite vendors and models, so, as always, it was a barrel of laughs from beginning to end. Believe it or not, but I actually bought the suit jacket and shirt that Jessie is wearing in an op shop the day of the shoot! Coupled with my favourite tie of all time, it looked stunning in the photos!
We were all so blessed with this shoot, the day went smoothly but it did threaten to rain on us holding off until we were finished and as a bonus, gave us a gorgeous dramatic background for many of the photos. Our poor model Bride, Emily was getting a bit chilly towards the end though, however it was nothing that the car heater couldn’t fix...
Everything was so gorgeous and I feel so honoured that my vendors and models were so willing to offer their talents and time to make this shoot possible. One of my all time favourite moments from our shoot was right afterwards, I was looking through the shots on my camera and stumbled across a golden photo that had me almost rolling on the floor with laughter!
For one of the shots, Lisel, the amazing assistant that she is, was throwing the dress up then running out of the shot for me, to get that stunning flowing effect. Well, one of those shots was just hilarious, her facial expression as well as her stance was just gold! I then proceeded to pass it around and we all had a good laugh, Lisel included. She’s a good sport. All in all, a fantastic shoot.
