Danielle + Quentin became engaged after two years and had known each for years through a mutual friend. The proposal cam when Covid restrictions where in full swing, so without the ability to leave the house, Quentin tied the ring around our Labrador Milo’s neck and waited for Danielle to notice before
asking her to marry him. "It was super cute involving the puppies!" The lovebirds share.

what led you to decide on Villa Rustica Byron Bay? A recommendation from our wedding planner Emily from Elope. It was just such a stunning venue and made us feel like we had been able to fly away somewhere. It just felt like it suited us.

what was the inspiration behind your Wedding theme? We wanted our wedding day to feel romantic, relaxed and very intimate.

favourite moment: At the end of the day when it was just the two of us left at the venue. We had time to just explore, take in the gorgeous views and just enjoyed being surrounded by such a
beautiful place. We finished our wine, the platter and just enjoyed each other’s intimate company.

favourite detail: The vegan platter was incredible!

how was your dress/suit shopping experience overall? Grace Loves Lace had the perfect dress for me. It was my first dress shopping appointment and I walked out having found the perfect one. Quentin found his Politix suit through David Jones and it was a perfect fit, no alterations appointments needed.

what resources did you find helped you the most during your Wedding planning? We spoilt ourselves by having Emily from Elope plan our day. It might sound a little odd, having a wedding planner for an elopement with no guests, but it meant that we could just enjoy the excitement of looking forward to our wedding day without any of the stress involved in putting it all together.

what does marriage mean to you? For us it simply means showing someone that you want to do the rest of this crazy thing called life, together. No matter what it throws at you.

advice: If you have ever dreamt of eloping, just go for it! Our day was incredibly romantic and intimate, something that would not have been the case if we had been entertaining a number of guests.
