When photographer Esme Whiteside mentioned to her friend Jenna of Wonderland Invites she was holidaying in Perth from the UK for three weeks Jenna knew she couldn't let this opportunity pass them by. So after some Instagram messaging back and forth, Jenna booked tickets to fly to Perth from Adelaide for a few days to work on this gorgeous styled 'modern bohemian' wedding shoot.
"The ideas were simple...elegant. We wanted to focus on a stunning location and a loved up real couple...with earthy, textural but modern styling to act as a contrast. The weather on the day was gorgeous, although there wasn't a cloud in the sky! Not much cover for Esme to shoot, nor for the team as the temperature rose. We worked quickly and started early." Jenna shares.
The main styling areas were set up and included a high seated table with wire chairs hired from Maisey Collections. Their over table arbour worked perfectly with Rose + Bud’s gorgeous statement floral installation. The table was styled in a modern yet textural way, with glassware, candles and florals at different heights to add interest. Kara from Rose + Bud brought boxes full of gorgeous pink, amber and creamy coloured stones from her friends at Crystal & Stone, which absolutely worked with the striking cliff textures of Quarry Amphitheatre, and the tones of the florals.
"We styled a ceremony arbour with movable plinths, Maisey’s new palm springs-style wicker benches, and we decided to reuse the over-table arch to add height and drama. Other styling areas included a gorgeous chillout area with big vases, sofas and rugs, and a grazing station by the wonderful Graze With Jade. A gorgeous pinky toned cake from Sieve and Stone topped the food styling. I created a bespoke suite of arched wedding invites along with multiple card inserts, all styled with my signature envelopes and tassels." Jenna tells.
"Our lovely couple were a real married couple; Jordy and Eliza. Luckily for us, Jordy had a gorgeous linen trouser/shirt combo and a whole host of suit trousers, shirts, braces and ties, so we were really spoilt for choice! To complement the outfits that Jordy wore, Noa Bridal Studio lent gorgeous dresses by the amazing Bo & Luca for Eliza to wear! She looked incredible in both the gowns we opted for...one being a simple but elegant shift, and the other, a dramatic sleeved gown with applique detail. Jewellery and hair accessories lent by Iron & Bone and Lilley Studio respectively topped off the beautiful bridal looks, which were created by Jane of Hadarah Hair and Makeup and Elona Commerell MUA. Hats off to the whole team for their beautiful, hard work...especially Esme who hadn't quite acclimatised to the Aussie heat but still managed to trek to the top of the quarry to capture some amazing shots with Eliza and Jordy!
