Thurley has fast become one of the most coveted labels in Australia. Often drawing from personal experiences in travel, culture and art, Founder and Creative Director, Helen O’Connor, is known for injecting strong personality into her timeless designs across the 13 years since launching the brand.
“We have paid close attention to the feedback of our loyal customers, which is evident through the variety in the collection. We are excited to showcase a more holistic + versatile offering, as well as our signature dresses + evening-wear pieces.”
Inspired by the 1942 film ‘Casablanca’, the Spring ‘19 collection emphasises the essence of the time, place and people. In the collection, Thurley has incorporated a variety of Moroccan-inspired custom prints, colours and hand-crafted decorations with a subtle French infusion. The feminine yet bold colour palette translates Thurley’s admiration for the classic and exotic.

The collection showcases Thurley’s appreciation for intricate detailing and exclusive patterns. Representative of its signature style, Thurley reinvents broderie anglaise and guipure lace to compliment the modern and powerful styles within the collection. Key features include contrasting delicate floral patterns with strong colours, statement sleeves and golden embellishments. Founder and Creative Director, Helen O’Connor, explains the approach Thurley has taken with the ‘Casablanca’ collection.
“The foundation of the colour palette is primarily neutral so it integrates into our customers wardrobe with ease. Prints are the real hero of the season with the engineered placement of bold florals and paisleys impressed onto hammered silks, luxurious voile and yoryu silk. Thurley’s signature incarnations are also strongly evident, with eyeletting, knotted roulou lacing, corsetry and quilting showcased through various styles in the collection.”
