FORT LYTTON

FORT LYTTON SHOOT BRISBANE BRIDAL DESIGNER HAIRSTYLIST ACCESSORIES
Inspiration for this styled shoot was drawn from elegant styles combined with the old neutral feels of the internal rooms of Fort Lytton in Brisbane. Florals consisted of soft pink and yellow tones from Maddie Jayde Floral Design. This combined with styling of linen textures and crystal highlights carefully styled by St. Aisle with the addition of romantic fabrics to echo the table settings. A perfect intimate setting for two.

What are some of the highlights you had during the shoot process:
A definite highlight was seeing how everyones individual skills and professional attention to detail all came together to create the final images. From the gowns provided by Luna and Willow, jewellery from Little White Couture to the perfect bridal makeup by Lacey Clark and Hair from Tel’s Hairdo this all created a beautiful bridal look for our model Johanna Pekolj. And with Matt Hayes from Rebel Rebel talent looked every part the groom in his attire provided by Black Jacket Suiting.

Did you face any challenges on the day? If so, how did you overcome them?
The only challenge we had on the day of the shoot was the fear that it would rain or that the area would be flooded from rain previously. We did however have amazing good fortune and everything was stunning on the day. Although one thing to keep in mind if photographing at Fort Lytton is that not all rooms of the fort will be clear of water if the weather has been wet.

What led you to decide on this venue/shoot location?
I personally was very keen to photograph a style session in this location, not only has it become very popular for vendors to use this iconic Brisbane spot as a backdrop but also with couples wanting to photograph their portrait session for engagement and also wedding shoots. Lets say it was a bucket list of locations for 2018.

What was your favourite detail about the shoot day?
My favourite detail of the day would be the florals and the cake! The Sweet Society Co. always takes such good note of the brief details and creates a such complementary designs depending on the tones that are decided on. The cake accents matched Maddie Jayde Floral Design Bouquet and centrepiece effortlessly.

Favourite moment/s from the day:
My favourite moment would have to be the last 20 minutes of the shoot when the light had started to fall and there was only a small amount of window light streaming in. The darkness behind Johanna being lit softly by the last little beams of light were just divine and a perfect note to finish the shoot with.
