What was the inspiration behind this shoot concept?
The concept was to have a wedding in the bush. Pure and simple nothing fancy or too formal. We wanted to showcase the bush and rough overgrown areas whilst still emphasizing the beautiful brides. The styling elements were to be in line with the bush and the rough rustic style we were going for. Everything was to be made from wood, wooden chairs, wooden arch, real wood stumps etc. The flowers were chosen to contrast against the greens of the bush, so we went for deep reds, pinks and purples with some whites just for contrast. All the flowers were kept rough and were not over styled. Because we were having 2 brides we wanted to make sure that both dresses stood out from one another and that the personalities of the brides shown through.

What led you to decide on this shoot location?
We were actually looking for a bushy overgown area within the national park to start with but when the stylist came on board she knew the owner of this property and took me to show me. I feel in love with the overgrown ferns that went up the side of the property and that was it, we decided to do the shoot there on the property.
What was your favourite detail about the shoot day?
I loved the little romantic candle lit and festoon lighting area that Kay was able to create for us. It turned out better then I had hoped and gave us some great romantic images.
Favourite moment/s from the day:
The last part of the shoot was probably the most fun we all had during the shoot. Everyone was relaxed and just having a few laughs and lots of fun. We got out the smoke bombs and all just had a bit of fun playing in the bush. We got some really great shots towards the end and some of these are my favourites from the day.
