Chris and Ingrid share their amazing boho outdoor Wedfest set in the surronds of Mount Pleasant after a beach proposal and 4 years together before becoming engaged.

Tell us more about the proposal: Chris called me out of university early to drive down to Byron Bay on a Tuesday afternoon. He said that there was a rare comic book for sale and he had to leave Brisbane to get it asap. He knew I would say yes to coming for the drive as Byron is my favourite place. When we arrived, he said let’s grab fish and chips on the beach before we meet with the guy who is selling him the comic book. He asked me to hold something while he put the picnic blanket down and it was the engagement ring. There was no comic book for sale, just the proposal...

What led you to decide on your Wedding venue? I always wanted to get married outdoors amongst the mountains. This was a friends property so it worked out perfectly.

What was the inspiration behind your Wedding theme? We wanted a boho festival vibe for our wedding, I was inspired by festivals I had attended in the past. Everything was DIY and this made the day more magical and personal for us.

Your most favourite moments of the day: Speeches and dancing the night away!

What was your favourite detail/s about the day? Candles, olive leaves on the tables and nature.

Tell us about your dress! I had already found the dress before we were engaged haha! It was easy, I purchased it online from Spell and then the next week I drove down to Byron Bay, tried it on and picked it up.

What does marriage mean to you? The first Wedding I ever attended was my cousin's Wedding in 1994, I was 5 years old. I remember this day clearly, I was so envious of the Bride as she walked down the aisle. From that day onward all I wanted to do was get married, I would play dress ups in my sisters clothing and steal her lipstick, she still brings it up to this day. Marriage is beautiful, a celebration of love - doesn't get much better than that!

Any classic stories you want to share from the day? It was an extremely wet Wedding, it rained for two weeks straight and our Wedding fell into the middle of those two weeks. I was so stressed that guests wouldn't come or would leave early due to the weather. The best part was everyone embraced the wet weather, we all danced in the rain and the mud and nothing would stop us from celebrating.

What advice would you offer to other couples planning a Wedding? Keep calm, and if things don't fall to plan - let it be! The most important thing is that you are with your partner and that’s all that matters.

Any stand out vendors for the day? Ash from Lemon Poppy Photography and Kristen from Wednesday and Co photography. I can't thank these girls enough for their hard work, they both went above and beyond to capture our special moments. They risked bringing their equipment into the rain and they used the weather to its advantage and gave us the most beautiful photos which we will keep close to our hearts forever.
