"Standing on our cow hide rug - our altar - with the biggest grin on my face, sooooo excited and happy to marry my best friend in the world was the best feeling ever!!!"
Clancy & Larry met after the Katherine Show Campdraft Rodeo in the Northern Territory at the Country Club. The two were together for 10 months before a very heartfelt proposal in their home when Larry was laying on their bed with his head in Clancys lap and as he looked up into her eyes he said – "Will You Marry Me?" It was very unexpected for Clancy. It was simple and romantic – very Larry style.
➳ What was the inspiration behind your Wedding theme? Rustic, Cowgirl, Country, Boho
➳ Any funny stories from the day? The entrance of the Bridal party to the Wedding reception was done in the form of a rodeo announcer / auctioneer introduction. Each Bridal party couple had a song that was selected by the Bride and Groom that suited the Bridesmaid or Groomsmen – as the couple entered the venue across the grass dance floor under the fairy lights they had a funny freestyle dance routine they did before sitting down at the bridal table.
➳ What advice would you offer to other couples planning a Wedding?
1 Book your venue quickly.
2 Set a budget and be prepared to blow it by at least $5000!!!
3 Get a good photographer. Denis Banks was amazing!!!
4 Make lists, lists, lists and lists and tick them off.
5 Make sure everyone knows their role/responsibility on the day or leading up to it.
6 We provided a bus to the venue and reception to allow guests to be able to drink and not have to worry about transport.
7 We had a sit down meal catered for but we also provided homemade selfserve Nachos in a box at around 10.30pm which was a hit!!!
8 Make sure someone is filming it for you even if it is just a guest on an iphone
9 The photos and videos help recall the day that feels like it passes so fast and becomes a bit of blur.
10 Take some time out afterwards. If you cannot take a honeymoon straight away, at least take a day or two just by yourselves.
11 Have a clean-up team lined up for the day after.
