"Standing on our cow hide rug - our altar - with the biggest grin on my face, sooooo excited and happy to marry my best friend in the world was the best feeling ever!!!"
Clancy & Larry met after the Katherine Show Campdraft Rodeo in the Northern Territory at the Country Club. The two were together for 10 months before a very heartfelt proposal in their home when Larry was laying on their bed with his head in Clancys lap and as he looked up into her eyes he said – "Will You Marry Me?" It was very unexpected for Clancy. It was simple and romantic – very Larry style.
➳ What led you to decide on your Wedding venue? The Wedding venue was an easy decision. It was on Clancy’s late Aunties private property on the Nymboida River, NSW (approx. 2hrs inland from Coffs Harbour) - Clancy’s favourite place in the world. We were married on the property in a quiet corner under the gumtrees overlooking the Nymboida River with a view of the Nymboida Bridge in the back ground. The reception was at a different location 10 mins away in a barn on a private property at Nymboida.
➳ What was the inspiration behind your Wedding theme? Rustic, Cowgirl, Country, Boho
➳ What was your favourite detail about the day? The flowers my Aunt Helen designed which included Black Cockatoo Feathers and other feathers I had collected over the months. Also Koda the horse. My brother bred and trained the horse that took me to my husband.
➳ Tell us about finding your Wedding dress: My dress was second hand. I had been looking at them online and did not try any on in a Bridal shop but rather went looking at private sales of dresses in peoples homes. I flew down to NSW from the NT to try dresses on. My best friend and Maid of Honour Brigitte, was with me. The dress that I decided on fit perfectly. I had 15 minutes to try the dress on, make the decision, pay the money and get on the highway to Brisbane to catch my flight back to the NT. When it is the right dress – it just fits.
➳ Most favourite moment of the day: Standing on our cow hide rug (our altar) with the biggest grin on my face being sooooo excited and happy to marry my best friend in the world. Best feeling ever!!! Walking back down the aisle as husband and wife was an amazing feeling!
➳ What does marriage mean to you? Marriage means being the best humans we can be for each other. It means team work, life time commitment, fun, happiness, never giving up on each other, and travelling through the good times and tough times of life together. It means to love each other when it's easy and when it is hard.
