SASHA X HEATH

REAL WEDDINGS SUNSHINE COAST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY

Sasha & Heath were married on North Stradbroke Island in November 2017 in front of 63 of their nearest and dearest. They met at the end of 2014 and started hanging out when they fell in love. Being together just seemed so natural and three years later, here they are, enjoying life as newlyweds with their two boys.

The proposal happened on their date night with their 7 month old baby with them. Living by the ocean, Heath suggested that they take a walk on the beach which Sasha thought was peculiar as it was raining! It was really sweet, Heath got down on one knee in front of Mudjimba Island, holding their son in one arm and pulling the ring out with his other hand. Sasha will never forget how nervous Heath was even though they had already started planning the Wedding. Nonetheless, it was perfect and a beautiful memory.

Sasha and Heath knew that Straddie was the place for them to marry. Being the perfect compromise between an overseas destination Wedding and a local event. Sasha fell in love with the property the moment she saw it with it's huge garden and own private beach… what more could you want?

They had already started making palette furniture at home as it was an inexpensive option that would look awesome. Creating the rustic/boho theme around the furniture they made and using touches of navy everywhere to compliment the Bridal party.

The Bride wore the Paloma by Grace Loves Lace and it was her dream dress. First seeing the Paloma on Instagram, Sasha knew it was the perfect balance of boho and romance with a touch of sexy and had to have it. Wearing this for the Ceremony and then slipping into Made with Love's Anastasia gown for the reception, Sasha had it altered so it was the perfect dancing dress.

The couple used local Sunshine Coast vendors, believing in sticking with who you know and supporting local and all of their family and friends were happy to make the trip to Straddie. The cake by Jade from Cake kiosk was amazing and the food from Jimmy's Catering was by far the standout. Sliders, tacos, arancini balls, mini fish and chips followed by a main and dessert. Everybody said the food was incredible.

The precious moment for Sasha was when her Dad saw her for the first time. Looking so happy and he just couldn't stop staring at her and saying how beautiful she was and how proud he was! Sasha's Dad made jokes whilst walking down the aisle and Sasha said how this stopped her from crying… which was awesome. Being pelted with rose petals after being pronounced Husband and Wife was also a pretty awesome moment too for them both! The couple even had dolphins visit during their ceremony… how perfect.

Their aisle song was "Such Great Heights" by Iron and Wine, the recessional music was "Sweet Disposition" by The Temper Trap and their first dance was to "Silver Words" by Rodriguez. We can laugh about it now, but their Groomsman Dave passed out and fell from the deck (luckily it was only a step high!) when they were all walking back down the aisle.

"When you find someone you love and work well with, then compromising is easy. But I guess it's deciding to share the road with someone, to take turns driving, hold hands in the car, and to let both people have a choice in where you might decide to take a detour to." Sasha - Bride.
